Welcome to my online photography portfolio! I strive to capture vibrant and fresh images of food, plants, landscapes, architecture and people. Over the years I have learned that practice – not fancy equipment – is what makes a good photographer. I use a Canon Rebel XTi DSLR with a Sigma 50 mm f/2.8 EX DG Macro lens for most of my shots. I had been using a Tamron 17-35 mm WA lens for the 2008 summer but later traded it in for a Canon 18-55mm IS to avoid distortion at the edges of my wider garden shots. The 18-55 has now become my constant companion.
I most enjoy shooting food and flowers, both of which I have plenty of access to through my work as a food writer and professional horticulturist. Get a taste for my writing style:
